Kaduna Train Attack: Terrorists Renege After FG Fulfilled all their Demands – Presidency
The presidential palace said that the terrorists who kidnapped the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train deceived the government by failing to fulfill their promise in spite of the federal government meeting all their demands.
The presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu made this known in an interview with BBC .
Garba Shehu said that the government has met the request of the terrorists’ leader by releasing his pregnant wife but he later broke his promise.
When they were negotiating with the government, they promised to release the train passengers they kidnapped upon meeting their demands.
When the government fulfill it’s own part of the deal, Malam Garba added that the terrorists came up with new demands.
These statements came a few hours after President Buhari met with the relatives of the kidnapped passengers at his palace on Thursday.
Shehu said that this is not the first time that the terrorists have violated the promise made with them, but it is the first time that the government is revealing its own side of the story to the public.
There are still 31 passengers in the hands of the kidnappers in the forest, but the government said that it will not use force to rescue them, because all of them are alive.
