Unknown gunmen in South East, not fulanis but Igbos, says APGA chieftain
EMERGENCY DIGEST- The candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA) in Onitsha North 1 constituency, Nwaeze Nwora has unveiled the identity of the unknown gunmen. In this interview with METRO TIMES correspondent, he described Governor Soludo as the Messiah of Anambra have been waiting for Excerpts.
What is your view on Governor Soludo transformation agenda in Anambra State?
I will say that the Governor’s implementation of his transformation agenda in Anambra State is yielding fruitful results. The Governor is doing exactly what he did in Central Bank in Anambra State. When he came up with the idea of Bank reform, many people did not believe that he can be able to implement it but in the end, his bank reform initiative was successfully implemented and people are now enjoying it.
That Bank reform initiative of Governor Soludo is the reason our banks stopped collapsing and our people stopped losing their savings in the bank. When Governor Soludo said that he will ban agboro in Anambra State both in the markets and our streets, many never believed that he can do it. But as of today, agboro is a thing of the past in Anambra State. Even if you see people doing it, they do it in hiding knowing very well that if they are caught by security agents, that they will be dealt with decisively.
The Governor came up with many transformation initiatives in Anambra and today those initiatives have been successfully implemented. Well, I will credit the successful implementation of his transformation agenda in Anambra to his strong will to do what is right without minding whose ox is gored.
How will you rate Governor Soludo administration performance for the 4 months he has been in office?
If I am asked to score the performance of Governor Soludo, I will score him 100 over 100. The reason is because of his burning desire and determination to effect positive change in Anambra. Any keen watcher of events since Governor Soludo’s assumption of office in Anambra will confess that it is no longer business as usual.
In fact, Governor Soludo has eradicated the business-as-usual mentality from Anambra State. Both he and those working with him are eager to deliver and that is what we need in Anambra State.
Governor Soludo has done tremendously well in all sectors of governance despite the insecurity challenges that confronted his administration immediately after he was sworn in. One good thing about Governor Soludo is that he confesses by himself that he came prepared hence the reason he will not complain about the challenges confronting his administration.
This mindset helped him to successfully tackle the insecurity challenges in our State in such a way that Anambra people can now sleep with their two eyes closed. What the heartless criminals masquerading as unknown gunmen wanted to achieve in Anambra was to chase him out of the State. But the reverse is now the case because Governor Soludo has clipped the wings of the heartless criminals masquerading as unknown gunmen in Anambra State.
They operate as if they are spirits and when they commit crimes in the State, they confuse people with the claim that Fulani people are the ones killing people in the State but as of today, we now know that they are not Fulani but our brothers from neighboring States that turned crime and killing of innocent people into a lucrative business in Anambra State.

Some of the arrested criminals are from Anambra State. So I will say that Governor Soludo has won the heart of ndi Anambra with the decisive action he took against the heartless criminals masquerading as unknown gunmen in Anambra State. It is also not in doubt that the Governor wants to transform Anambra State into a State we all can be proud of. Very soon, his administration will kick start massive road construction in the State. So in my assessment, I will say that Governor Soludo as the messiah that came to govern Anambra State at the appointed time has done well in office.
How will you describe the relationship between Governor Soludo administration and our lawmakers?
In my opinion, I will say that they are enjoying an excellent relationship. The lawmakers have seen that Governor Soludo came to work and they are giving him the needed cooperation to do that.
When the Governor presented his revised budget to the House of Assembly, people started insinuating that the lawmakers will not pass the budget because of Governor Soludo’s refusal to grease their palms with money. But at last, the lawmakers did their job without requesting for their palms to be greased with money.
They passed the revised budget as their way of supporting Governor Soludo administration transformation agenda. As if that was not enough, the Governor requested approval to get a 100bilion naira loan and the lawmakers gave him the approval. So in my opinion, the lawmakers are very supportive of Governor Soludo’s administration transformation agenda in Anambra. Ndi Anambra are happy with the good relationship between the lawmakers and Governor Soludo’s administration.
Governor Soludo has shown keen interest in the development of Onitsha as a community, what is your reaction to the Governors good plans for Onitsha?
It’s a good omen that the Governor has a special interest in Onitsha and its environs. Most of the things he had in mind for Onitsha are currently being implemented. He is currently restoring the Onitsha master plan. Am aware that he has kick-started the decongestion of Onitsha markets.
He is also demolishing structures built on drainage channels in Onitsha. He is doing all these to reclaim the lost glory of Onitsha as a city. The other he practically brought the World to Onitsha and they toured the whole of Onitsha and its environs.
It is only someone like Governor Soludo that can bring the powerful delegation from the international communities to Onitsha. He brought them to invest in Onitsha and Anambra State at large. It’s obvious that Governor Soludo has good plans for the whole of Anambra State and when he is done with the implementation of such plans, ndi Anambra will take a basket of thanks to him for putting in his best in serving them. Governor Soludo has shown everybody that he came to serve and that he is not ready to compromise the service he wants to give to ndi Anambra.
For me, I will say that the Governor is rendering selfless service to ndi Anambra because he focused his attention on delivering dividends of good governance to ndi Anambra.
What will you tell the electorates that voted massively for Governor Soludo in the last governorship election?
I will tell them to increase the volume of their support for Governor Soludo. The Governor is not a disappointment to those that voted for him and that is my reason for encouraging them to continue supporting him without looking back. If Governor Soludo succeeds in transforming Anambra State, those that voted massively for him will be the beneficiaries.
I will not forget to use this medium to say Happy birthday to the people’s Governor and transformation ambassador of Anambra State. Anambra citizens are happy with Governor Soludo and they continue supporting him.
