How Flood Spill Sacked Many Households in Damboa

Residents of Old Wuyaram Market and Kachallah Burari Gana communities have fled their homes after flood water from neighboring villages displaced their homes.
EMERGENCYDIGEST gathered that the residents have since vacated their houses after an overflow of water hits the communities on Tuesday evening.
While reacting to their plight, Kyari Mai Aji, a resident who is also a victim said the exact number of affected houses is yet to be ascertained.
A victim identified as Modu Babagana said that the overflow of the water has affected his house and rendered them homeless.
“My family and I were helpless. We didn’t have anywhere to go because our house has been affected. The rain we had in Damboa lasted only for an hour and it wasn’t heavy but there was an overflow of water from Kallah as well as Multe into our community.”

A resident of Kachallah Burari Gana, Fanna Goni told EMERGENCYDIGEST that she and her four children were helpless due to the menace.
“It never happened to us and I’ve never heard anyone talk about it. The overflow is so big that we can’t even describe it. We just pray that the waterways of our neighboring villages will be fixed by the government to save us from this kind of problem.”
Residents of the twin communities have called on the government of Borno State Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum and other relevant authorities come to their aid and repair the waterways of their neighboring villages.
