Outstanding Achievements: Group Eulogizes FMC Birnin Kudu Chief
The Jigawa Progressive Forum has commended the new Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kudu, Dr. Adamu Abdullah Atterwahmie over his achievements within few months of his appointment.
This was contained in a communiqué issued by the forum after its meeting during the weekend.
The statement added that Dr. Atterwahmie succeeded in resuscitating the centre and make it an institution that can compete with any other health facility across the country.
Some of the achievement highlighted include:
1. Promoting a spirit of team work through coordination of medical, administrative and other sub staff in order to ensure good service delivery in the centre. This has change the mindset of the staff in terms of discharging their official responsibilities.
2. Having being a technocrat, the MD always operate strictly under the guide of bureaucratic rules and make decisions in line with the civil service rules without putting personal interest. This has earn him more respect and loyalty and serve as good modeling to the subordinates.

3. Renovation of different structures and facilities such as fencing wall of the centre, Female Medical Ward, O and G, source of water in the centre among others.
4. Facilitating the completion of projects inherited from the previous administration of the centre.
5. Recruitment of over 200 Medical, Administrative and sub-staff in the centre to address the problem of man power which is critical to the functioning of the centre.
6. Procurement of modern equipments in the laboratories for easy diagnosis of various illnesses.
7. Securing various intervention projects for the centre in an attempt to elevate it to a world class level.
8. Payment of all outstanding allowances and other entitlements of staff in the centre to ensure the good welfare of the staff and serve as motivation for them.
9. Making arrangements for the construction of permanent site of the centre.
10. Mounting a school for the commencement of Community Health and other related courses in the centre.
11. Setting up an open door policy for people who are the beneficiaries of the services provided by the centre so that they can suggest on how the services could be improved.
We pray that the Almighty Allah continue to guide, support and protect the Medical Director and his subordinates in the discharge of their duties, now and beyond.
