Train attack: Terrorists release abducted expectant mom

EMERGENCY DIGEST- Terrorists suspected to be of Ansaru group have released an expectant mother abducted alongside others from the Kaduna-Abuja train last month.

The woman, one of the two expectant mothers kidnapped from the train, was released on compassionate grounds, it was learnt.

A video of the released woman in a black long gown and black face mask was trending on social media.

She called on the Federal Government to negotiate with the terrorists for the release of the remaining passengers.

The woman said the terrorists were taking good care of them, noting that they were well-fed and given good medical attention.

Also, gunmen, who took a middle-aged widow and mother of four children in Kogi on Saturday have demandef N10 million ransom from her family.

The widow, Mrs Sefi Jimoh, was allegedly kidnapped on the road while waiting for a commercial motorcycle home after a morning prayer session at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church at Phase II in Lokoja metropolis.

A family source, who spoke to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Lokoja, said, “This morning, our sister’s abductors got to us on the phone demanding N10 million ransom for her freedom.”

Police spokesman William Ovye-Aya said he had not been briefed on the development.
