80 victims of Plateau attacks buried in mass grave
Over 80 persons reportedly killed in an attack by bandits on seven Kanam communities in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State have been given mass burial in their various villages.
The Nation reports gunmen on motorcycles attacked Kanam communities on Sunday and reportedly killed 80 persons, abducted 70 and razed 100 homes.
It was gathered government and business activities in the council area were paralysed on Monday as people abandoned work to pay their last respect to the victims.
Member representing Pankshin, Kanam, Kanke (PKK ) in the House of Representatives Yusuf Gagdi condemned the terrorist attacks.

The chairman of the House Committee on Armed Forces said the Minister of Defence, Gen. Magashi (rtd), has been contacted over the development and told offer immediate military presence in the affected communities.
Gagdi fumed at Federal government’s negligence to provide security to Plateau communities despite intelligence reports by the Department of State Security (DSS) of the influx of bandits fleeing to Plateau and other neighbouring States over nine months before the attack was carried out.
According to him, the Federal Government, who has exclusive control of security apparatus, has woefully failed in its primary responsibility of protecting lives and property of Nigerians.
