Police Arrest Mother of Five for Setting her Daughter Ablaze in Ogun

Officers and men of Ogun state police command have arrested a mother of five for pouring petrol on her 10 year old daughter and set her ablaze.
According to a media briefing by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the suspect, Aisha Tijani was arrested following a report lodged at Mowe divisional headquarters by Moroof Ayinde, who reported that the suspect who lives in the same house with him poured petrol on her little daughter and set her ablaze.
He stated further that, the woman got annoyed because the little girl took a phone she seized from one of her children from where she kept it and gave it back to the child whose hand the phone was seized.
DSP Oyeyemi added that, upon the report, the DPO Mowe division, CSP Folashade Tanaruno quickly moved to the scene with detectives and got the suspect arrested.
The victim, who had been badly burnt was rushed to the nearest hospital from where she was referred to Olabisi Onabanjo teaching hospital for proper medical attention.
During interrogation, the suspect, who claimed to have been separated from the father of the children, explained to the police that she didn’t know what came over her when she was carrying out the wicked act.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.

Police Nab Two Members of a Kidnap Gang in Ogun

Gallant officers and men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a two member of a notorious kidnap syndicate. The arrest was achieved as a result of intelligence information followed by SP Taiwo Opadiran led anti kidnapping unit which yielded the personnel to identified the suspect’s hideout around the area of Abeokuta. The suspects were Jato Abu Bello and Muhammad Suleiman.
According to a media briefing by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that after identifying the location of the suspect the anti kidnapping operatives in conjunction with men of Ilupeju and Lafenwa divisions stormed the place where two amongst the kidnappers were arrested.
Upon interrogation, the suspects have confessed been the gang that kidnapped Ajibola Salimot Adejoke who they traced and abducted in her house at Oke ode area, off Ayetoro road, Abeokuta in February.
They also kidnapped Victoria Oladoyin in February as well at Aboba area of Sodeke titun Abeokuta.
Again, earlier in March, the duo and their gang abducted two siblings namely; Esther Kehinde and David Kehinde at Ayetoro.
Some of the victims have identified the suspects as their abductors.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, who commended his men for their resilience and determination in fishing out the suspects has directed that other members of the syndicate must be hunted for and brought to book
