Comrade Ogakwu noted that, one of the functions of CSOs is to hold the government agencies responsible and accountable to their actions especially in the course of executing developmental projects.
In his words; “Projects are not just done, but should be judiciously in accordance with international standards and ensure a due process was followed.”
Subject to that, Comrade Dominic has therefore called for an on the spot independent assessment of the projects so far executed by the NLTF in order to ascertain their existence and credibility.
Earlier, in his comment, the Executive Secretary of NLTF, Dr. Bello Maigari stated that, as part of their mandates, they have disbursed about N150 million to several CSOs and NGOs in 2020 for the execution of various projects.
Dr. Maigari also noted that the agency has over the years conducted numerous human and capital developmental projects across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Notable among is donation of medical equipment to some selected primary health care centers across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
Items donated include; X-ray machines, wheelchairs, hydraulic beds, ambulances, blood banks, suction machines among others.
