Again, Air Peace Airlifts 123 Nigerians, Infant from Ukraine

A total of 123 Nigerians evacuated by the Federal Government from Ukraine have arrived Abuja.

Among them is an infant.

The evacuees were airlifted from Poland onboard Air Peace Flight that touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja today 11th March 2022 at 1:20am.

They were received by Federal Government team led NEMA and other agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. Also present were representatives of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigerian Immigration Service, Port Health Services, Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, etc.

Addressing the evacuees on behalf of the Director General of NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed, the Director of Search and Rescue Air Commodore Edward Kolawole Adedokun welcome them back to the country and outlined the processes of the documentation before exiting from the airport.

Also speaking, an official of Nigerian in Diaspora Commission Abdulrahman Terab welcome them on behalf of the Federal Government and assured them them that arrangements had been made to support them with transport subsidy of USD$100 to their various locations.
