Again: Protesting women block NASS gate
EMERGENCY DIGEST- Various women groups on Tuesday again blocked the entrance of the National Assembly to protest alleged inequality against women.
The women, who blocked off the Federal Secretariat gate of the Parliament, protested the rejection of gender bills during the constitutional amendment last week.

They were not allowed access into the National Assembly again by security agents during the protest that coincides with the International Women’s Day.

The women, led by Dr Abiola Afolabi, insisted they would not leave until they meet the leadership of the National Assembly and get assurances something urgent would be to to address the situation.
Some of them hung chains on their necks to symbolise how women have been caged in the polity.
At the time of filing this report the gates to the National Assembly was still blocked.
