The Borno state government has urgently set up an uncompromising committee for the attack on Jibril Sadi Mato, 11, a student of the Elkanemy College of Islamic Theology Maiduguri, who was nearly killed by his senior colleague because he refused to go an errand for him.

This was contained in a statement made by the Borno state Commissioner of Education, Lawan Abba Wakilbe on Friday in the state.

Wakil has described the incident as ‘Unfortunate,’ adding that he had dispatched his ministerial secretary to urgently return to Maiduguri to set up a committee of inquiry, find out what truly happened, and brief the press accordingly.

He lastly said that the identity of the culprit is known and he’s currently under police custody in Maiduguri.

Recall that the student was attacked on 11 January in a quiet place in their school.
