Herdsmen invade Ondo community kill 5, second attack in 5 days

EMERGENCY DIGEST- Killer Fulani herdsmen have again invaded Arimogija community in Ondo State, killing no fewer than five people, hours after Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu threatened to deal with them.

Akeredolu had on Sunday visited Omolege Junction, an Ondo community after last Wednesday’s attack, where 50 AK-47 wielding herdsmen killed three people, including the community leader.

The herdsmen also burned homes.

The governor during his visit to the community threatened to deal with the criminal herdsmen and bring them to justice.

He was accompanied on the visit by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Oyediran Oyeyemi; the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Tunji Adeleye; and some members of the state executive council.

However, killer herdsmen on Monday evening invaded Arimogija, a community in the same Ose Local Government Area, killing five people.

Those killed included the community youth chairman, Augustine Lucky; Osaromere Augustine; Odalume Stephen; Okpakoro and Monday Black, reports Sahara Reporters.
