ASLN Fellow Elected Chairman of Nigerian Pharmacists in Academia
A Fellow of the African Science Literacy Network, ASLN, Dr. Ezekiel Olugbenga Akinkunmi, has emerged as the National Chairman, Nigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA).
The researcher teaches at the Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, in Ile Ife, Osun State.
He was elected at the 19th National Scientific Conference of the Association, held at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN.
He is now the spokesperson for all lecturers in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Schools in Nigeria, by virtue of his position.
The OAU don, described his election as NAPA Chairman as divine.

He said: “I don’t really know what qualified me other than the love which I have received from my people.
“I have been saddled with the responsibility and great honour of leading a team of highly distinguished group of pharmacists in Nigeria.
“This is a group of intellectually-savvy, globally-recognised, distinctly-resourceful and professionally-informed eminent personalities.
“For me, this is a great responsibility and a unique honour, which, honestly, few years ago never crossed my mind.”
The ASLN Fellow, promised to build on the foundation laid down by past NAPA leaders.
He also assured that his leadership will flag-off new projects, and launch fresh initiatives to address emerging needs in the pharmacy and pharmaceutical science discipline.
