RAPE: Police Arrest 34yr-Old in Delta
EMERGENCY DIGEST- The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old man identified as Ayuba Adavo, who was alleged to have raped a 25-year-old lady in the Sapele area of the state.
In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe on Tuesday, stated that Mr Ayuba Adavo was arrested on Monday 8th November 2021, along Sapele-Warri road on the strength of a case reported by a 25-year-old lady (name withheld).

The statement explained that the lady reported that on the said date at about 8 pm while she was walking along Amagiya road, Sapele, Adavo blocked and dragged her to his room.
According to the statement, the lady could not raise an alarm because Adavo threatened to shoot her with a locally-made cut-to-size gun if she dared resist.
“When they got to the room, the suspect, Mr Adavo, forcefully had carnal knowledge of the 25 years old lady but thereafter slept off because he was heavily drunk.
“The victim on noticing that the suspect was fast asleep, sneaked out of the room and ran to Sapele Police Division where she reported the case.
“Consequently, patrol team/detectives were drafted to the scene. The suspect was promptly arrested, one locally cut to size gun with one live cartridge was recovered from him,” it added.
