Sports ministry announces 2021 National Sports Federations Election Results

The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has announced the result of the just concluded election into National Sports Federations.

The Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mohammed Manga, made this known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen, Friday in Abuja.

The election was successfully conducted on September 30, 2021 at the Sports Hall, Package B of the National Stadium Abuja.

Personnel elected into the various offices of the Sports Federation include; Sam Ocheho for Handball, Dr. Ademola Are, Rugby, Dr. Musa Oshodi, Judo, Nkom O. Simon, Hockey and Dr. Ibrahim Abdu Aladi, Weight Lifting.

Others are Dayo Akindoju, Tennis, Silas Agara Ali, Karate, Alhaji Suleiman Dagbo, Deaf Sports etc.

However, only 22 Federations Elections were conducted as Badminton Federation Election was cancelled due to court injunction.

According to the statement, members of other various Federations engaged in the electoral exercise and elected their Presidents and Vice Presidents that will stir the affairs of the Federations for the next four years.

Elections of other institutions and the six-geopolitical zones had long been concluded as stated by Mr Peter Nelson Chairman of the Electoral Committee.

However, the Petition and Appeal Committees are on ground to attend to issues relating to the elections.
