BREAKING: Gunmen abduct nursing mother
Gunmen, in the early hours of Friday stormed Birshin Fulani, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis and kidnapped a nursing mother of 3 children, Mrs Rukayyat Odedoyin.
According to sources in the area who spoke with our Correspondent, the kidnappers numbering about 10 stormed the area at about 12am and forced themselves into the building.
They said that the gunmen broke the main door before gaining entrance into the house and went away with the woman whose husband had just been transferred to Kaduna.
“At about 12 midnight, we started hearing sporadic gunshots from different directions around our house. We woke up and thought of having cover.”
“We then heard people jumping the fence trying to gain entrance into the house of our neighbor. They were there from 12 midnight to 1.30am. By the time we came out, they had left with the woman leaving behind her 3 children as you can see”, a neighbor who pleaded anonymity said.
Another neighbor, Usman Baba told our Correspondent that, they just heard movement of people of motorbikes and thereafter gunshots from different directions then later towards the house of the woman who was kidnapped.
A colleague of the husband, Ade Aremu said that, “i was called by my colleague who is in Kaduna that his family was in danger, that i should go and see what the situation was. When I got there, I discovered that she had been kidnapped leaving behind the 3 kids.”
The State Police Command was yet to confirm the kidnapping as the PPRO did not pick up the phone when his line was called by our Correspondent as at 9am on Friday.
