The Head of Operations, BASEMA Dr Abubakar Gabarin told reporters yesterday in Bauchi that the flood-affected many communities.

He said the flood which affected 17 local government areas also destroyed property valued at N900 million.

Gabarin named the affected local government areas to include Alkaleri, Kirfi, Jammare, Bauchi, Ningi, Zaki Giade, Itas Gadau Gamawa, Shira, Darazo, Dambam Bogoro, Katagum, Dass and Warji.

According to him, the people whose households were washed away were now taking refuge in their neighbours’ houses and neighbouring villages.

In a related development, floods have destroyed bridges along two major roads in Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The affected roads are the Jabbi-Lamba to Belel and Nguli to Belel, all running across a number of local government areas in Northern Adamawa.
