Lay down your arms or face fire–Zamfara Police Warn Bandits
The newly posted Commissioner of police to Zamfara State, Mr Ayuba Elkana, has sent serious red signals to bandits operating in the State that they should as a matter of fact repent or face his actions.
The Commissioner disclosed this as he assumed office in Gusau, the State capital, saying that he was not happy over the dastard activities of bandits in the State.
According to him, no government can perform as expected without peace in the society, stressing that he would do all it takes to restore peace in Zamfara State.
“The bandits should know very well that I was not sent to Zamfara State to beg or appease them but fire for fire operation.”

He, however, commended the security operatives for their struggles to restore peace in the state, saying that no nation can be developed without peace.
Recall that the state has been under massive attacks by bandits within the past few weeks that have been holding everybody to ransom irrespective of tribe or religion.
It was gathered that even the state government is now helpless because of the constant killings.
However, opinion makers are pressurizing the federal government to as a matter of urgency create state police which they think can reduce the tension.
But many are of the contrary opinion that state police, if established would be used to intimidate political opponents in the country which they said would not be good for democracy.
