2 Cultists Nabbed For Allegedly Killing Soldier In Bayelsa
Two cultists believed to have participated in the killing of a soldier in Bayelsa State have been arrested.
Sources said the soldier was shot dead on Thursday night around Igbogene in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.
Though details of the incident were sketchy, the slain soldier was said to be a Lance Corporal in the Nigerian Army.
His attackers were said to have lured him out to the spot with a phone call over an unconfirmed deal that reportedly went sour, before shooting him dead.
The spokesperson for the 16 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Elebele, Tonye Wenke could not answer calls made to his phone number.

He has not responded to a text message sent to him by Independent Nigeria correspondent as of the time of filing this report.
However, the acting Chairman, Bayelsa Volunteers, Lucky Asanakpo, said the organisation in collaboration with stakeholders have arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of the soldier.
Asanakpo identified them as MacNelly Vincent, a 27-year-old member of the Bobos cult, and Gilizibe Taldord, 26, who belongs to the Greenlanders cult.
He said they were apprehended in their hideout within the area of the incident while a third suspect escaped.
He said, “Our surveillance unit got wind of the killing of the soldier and immediately swung into action by spreading its tentacles around.
