Delta women stage peaceful protest over influx of herdsmen
Delta State Women have staged a peaceful protest over the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen and their cows on their farmlands and communities.
It was gathered that the women who are from Okpara Inland and Orhoakpor communities in Ethiope-East Local Government Area bore branches of leaves, chanted solidarity songs as they asked the Fulani herdsmen to vacate their lands.
The women took their protests to the Isiokolo Police Station, Ethiope-East Local Government Council Secretariat, as well as the palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, HRM. (Engr.) Mike Omeru Ogurimerime Ukori I.
Chief Solomon Oturu who received the peaceful protesters at the palace promised to convey their messages to the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom as well as other relevant authorities.
