Newborn found in Kano well, teenager dies in pond
The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the death of a one-day-old baby found inside a well at Tsalle village in the Gezawa Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Saminu Abdullahi, issued in Kano on Thursday, said the newborn baby was allegedly dumped into the well by unknown persons.

He disclosed that the agency received a distress call from one of its staff members, Abubakar Dandago, on the incident.
Following the report, Abdullahi said a rescue team immediately swung into action and took the body of the dead baby from the well.
Meanwhile, the agency also confirmed the death of a 16-year-old teenager, Muhammad Ghali, who accidentally fell into a pond at the Red Bricks area in the Kano metropolis.
In another development, a 35-year-old man, Babawo Sulaiman, lost his life in a fire disaster at a welding workshop along Airport Road, Sabon Gari, Kano.
