Gov. Abdulrazaq fashioning sustainable model for KWASU–Pro-Chancelloro
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s keen interest in fashioning out a more sustainable financing model for the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, is highly commendable, Prof. Kpotun Mohammed Baba, has said.
He added that, “This singular act, when accomplished, would go a long way in relieving the huge financial burden on KWASU.”
According to him, it will further help position the University to achieve enviable heights in its primary responsibilities of teaching, research and community development
for upliftment of the State and humanity.
Prof. Mohammed Baba, the Pro-Chancellor of KWASU, disclosed this in a statement, felicitating with Alh. Abdulrazaq on his two-year anniversary as Kwara Governor.
According to him, May 29, 2019, marked the beginning of a new dawn not only for KWASU, but the State at large.
In sharp contrast with the past tradition, he said, KWASU, under Gov. AbdulRazaq, has been entrusted in the hands of renowned experts in the educational sector, as well as experienced administrators, whose value addition to the institution is unquantifiable.

“In the last two years, KWASU has joined the league of universities with a state of the art Faculty of Law, after a successful accreditation by both the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Council for Legal Education.
“This was enabled by the necessary financial support from the State Government, led by His Excellency,” the don added.
Prof. Baba, who is also the Chairman, Governing Council of KWASU, pointed out that the long neglected road to KWASU, from Shao to Malete has been repaired up to 70% completion, by Gov. AbdulRazaq.
His words: “Perhaps, the climax of this administration’s positive impact in KWASU is the unprecedented inclusion of the Ilesha-Baruba and Osi KWASU Campuses, as priority projects to be completed using the 35 billion naira bond to be accessed by this administration.
“Kwarans would recall that these two campuses have for long been abandoned. When completed, the two campuses would bridge educational gaps and as well speed-up development in the two Senatorial Districts.”
On behalf of other Council members, the Pro-Chancellor, prayed Allah protect the Governor from the hazards of public office and grant him all the time he needs to accomplish his great vision of building a better Kwara.
