Man Stabbed To Death Over Unpaid N20, 000 Loan

A 45-year-old bricklayer, Avonse Abraham, has allegedly been stabbed to death in Ogun State, over his inability to offset N20,000 loan he collected from a woman.

The incident happened in the Alli Isiba area of Sango Ota.

The deceased, a father of three, was late on Saturday night stabbed to death with a bottle by one of his neighbour’s sons, identified as Michael on Sunday, over his inability to pay a N20, 000 balance out of the N50 000 that he owed his mother.

The police at Sango Divisional Police Station said they have arrested the murder suspect and his mother.

As at Sunday afternoon, they were still being detained at the police station.

It was gathered that the deceased was on Saturday night, returning from work ,when his killer stopped him at Faith Chapel junction along Alli Isiba Street and stabbed him to death.

Residents of the area said that the suspect had last week hit the deceased with a plank on his head over an argument on the debt the late bricklayer was owing his mother.

A resident who simply identified himself as Wale said, “The deceased, Baba Akwoyon, was returning home from somewhere on Saturday night, when the incident happened.
