NSCDC official’s body found in shallow grave
The body of an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Josephine Cynthia Inalegwu Onche, who got missing a few days before her wedding, has been found in a shallow grave in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State.
Onche, daughter of former Mayor of Otukpo, Inalegwu Onche, was reported missing by her family in December 2019.
It was reported that the family started searching for her after she went shopping in preparation for her wedding, but didn’t return.
About one year and five months later, her decomposed body was found buried.

“An okada man who knew what happened to the late Cynthia Onche led her family members to arrest her proposed husband, who led the police to Ogun State where they arrested a native doctor, who performed the ritual at Obi Local Government Area before relocating to the Southwest state.
“Both the proposed husband and the native doctor have confessed committing the crime and are presently in police custody in Otukpo,” a source said.
Benue police spokesperson of the NSCDC Ejelikwu Michael declined to comment but another official of the Corps confirmed the development.
