Bauchi Road Accident Claims 4 Lives, Others Injured
No fewer than four persons died while others sustained an injury in a fatal road accident that occurred along Bauchi-Darazo highway, near Wailo village, Bauchi State on Thursday.
Confirming the incident on Friday, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi said that a total of 8 persons, who were all adult male were involved in the crash.
According to FRSC Boss, the incident occurred on Thursday, the 27th of May 2021 at about 2.45 pm, adding that the crash was caused as a result of overspeeding and wrong overtaking.

He said, “The crash involved a commercial vehicle, a Toyota Matrix Wagon with number plate: BEN256TA belonging to the National Union of Road Transport Workers while the second vehicle is a private Volkswagen Saloon Golf with number plate: MUB739QW”
“We were called and our men rushed to the scene for the rescue operation. They evacuated them to the General Hospital Darazo for medical attention.
“It was at the hospital that a medical doctor certified four of them dead. Their corpses have been deposited at the mortuary in the same hospital after which they will be released to their families for burial,” he said.
Abdullahi who said that the injured persons were responding to medical treatment, advised motorists to obey road traffic regulations to reduce accidents which usually leads to loss of lives and properties.
He advised that motorists should always avoid overspeeding, stressing that that speed kills and as such, they should reduce their speed while driving
