In Marte, Military Gunships Eliminate Terrorists on Reprisal Attack
A day after it repelled a Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists’ attack on Marte, the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole, has destroyed additional six gun trucks.
This was on the night of Friday, through to the early hours of Saturday.
It also eliminated scores of terrorists, who were attempting to reinforce their colleagues, in the attack, says the Defence Media Operations (DMO).

According to the Coordinator of DMO, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter gunships engaged the convoy of the ISWAP gun trucks as they approached Marte axis for reinforcement.
He said: “The helicopters delivered accurate hits in their multiple waves of attack, obliterating no fewer than 6 additional gun trucks, which were seen engulfed in flames across the battle space.
“Several other terrorists were mopped-up in follow-on attacks as the helicopter gunships continued to strafe the fleeing ISWAP elements.”
Recalled that in combined ground and air operations, troops on Friday, destroyed seven gun trucks, while also killing many insurgents.
