‘We’re Committed to Fighting Banditry, Other Crimes’

The Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies have said that they remain resolute in the fight against banditry and other sundry crimes.

This is just as a force package of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships, engaged two locations in Katsina State, destroying some bandits’ camps, their storage facilities, and killed 37 bandits at Dunya and Birnin Kogo.

According to them, they will not relent until normalcy is restored to all troubled zones of the country.

John Enenche, Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations (DMO), while disclosing this in a statement, said the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji has recorded more successes against armed bandits in the North West, as they obliterated another bandits’ camp.

He said the Hadarin Daji air troops also neutralized scores of the criminals at Birnin Kogo Forest in Katsina.

According to Enenche, a Major General, air raids were conducted on 23 and 24 November 2020, following credible intelligence reports indicating that the two camps, with their clusters of huts, were among the locations being used by the terrorists-affiliated armed bandits to store their sophisticated weapons and plan attacks.

He also disclosed that the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole has neutralized several Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters at Doron Naira on the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State.
