Attack Helicopter Eliminates Kaduna Bandits Rustling Cattle

The Air Component of Operation Thunder Strike has neutralized several armed bandits at Kwiambana Forest in Kaduna State.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), while disclosing this on Saturday, said the operation took place on 12 November 2020.

Mr. John Enenche, in a statement, said the operation was executed, sequel to reports that bandits carrying sophisticated weapons, mounted on motorcycles, had rustled a large number of cattle and other livestock from Dankolo and Machitta Villages.

Enenche, a Major General and Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations (DMO), said the bandits and the rustled livestock were subsequently spotted by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft on reconnaissance mission at Kaboru Village.

It was gathered that the criminals were heading towards Kwiambana Forest.

“The Air Component therefore dispatched a NAF attack helicopter to the location which engaged the target area, leading to the neutralization of several of the bandits,” he said.
