Katsina police kill 15 bandits, arrest 50 suspects
The Katsina State Police Command said on Thursday that it killed 15 suspected bandits and arrested over 50 suspects for various offences during its recent operations in various parts of the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, stated this at the command’s headquarters in Katsina when some of the arrested suspects were paraded along with their weapons.
Buba added that the command rescued 20 kidnapped victims, recovered weapons and N685,000 during the operations.
According to him, 140 suspected rapists were also arrested during the operations.

He said, “Recently, the command arrested over 50 suspected bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, cattle rustlers, recovered 10 AK-47 rifles, 20 locally-made guns, two motor vehicles, 20 motorcycles, 220 rustled cows, and the sum of N685,000.
“The command also killed 15 bandits and rescued 20 kidnapped victims in the ongoing war against all forms of crimes in the state.
“On the fight against the menace of rape bedevilling the state, a total of 140 suspected rapists were arrested in 87 reported cases and all were charged to court for prosecution. We are collaborating with traditional and religious leaders and other relevant stakeholders, including parents, to ensure that the menace is brought down to the barest minimum.”
The CP lauded other sister security agencies and those he described as patriotic citizens for their support and for giving the police credible information on the activities of criminals, urging them not to relent in their efforts.
