Lagos records 30,107 inmates

Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Moyosore Onigbanjo on Thursday released details of a report which identified stealing as the prevalent crime in the state between January and March 2020.

The other top crimes, according to quarterly data from the Lagos Criminal Information System (LCIS), were breach of peace and cultism.

According to a statement by the Director, Public Affairs Lagos State Ministry of Justice Mr Kayode Oyekanmi, stealing was 42 per cent of all crimes while pipeline vandalism was on the other end of the table with two per cent occurrence.

The statement revealed that the number of inmates so far captured on the LCIS surged to 30,107 as at March 2020, while Ibeju Lekki, Alimosho, Apapa, Ikorodu topped the list of crime locations.
