Troops Eliminate Dozen Bandits, Loss 2 Soldiers in Tashan Kare
Scores of armed bandits have been neutralized by troops of Operation Whirl Punch at Tashan Kare, in Niger State, said the Defence Headquarters.
A statement issued by Maj. Gen. John Enenche, on Monday, disclosed that in continuation of the aggressive clearance operation to rid criminal elements out of the North-Central, troops of Operation Whirl Punch, has recorded tremendous success against armed bandits.”

Enenche, Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations (DMO), in the statement added: “Following credible intelligence on the activities of armed bandits attack at Tashan Kare, in Niger State. Troops swiftly mobilized to the scene and made contact with the bandits.
“The gallant troops engaged the armed bandits with superior fire power killing unspecified number while others fled in disarray into the bushes.”
It was however, gathered that three soldiers were killed, while two others were wounded in action.
The statement added that exploitation is on going, saying details will soon follow.
The Military High Command has already congratulated the gallant troops for their professionalism, while also encouraging them to intensify the onslaught against the enemies of our country.
