Troops Kill 6 Bandits, Foil Rustling Operation–DHQ
Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity yesterday neutralised six armed bandits, in Zamfara State.
This was after acting on credible Human Intelligence, said the Defence Headquarters (DHQ).
The troops were backed by helicopter gunships of the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji.
DHQ, disclosed that after storming the bandits’ enclave at Komani Hills within Rukudawa general area of the State, the troops made contact with the criminals elements.
According to a statement by the Coordinator of the Defence Media Operations (DMO), Maj. Gen. John Enenche, the troops overwhelmed the bandits with superior fire power.
He said six bandits were killed by troops, while others fled with grave gun shots wounds.

The troops recovered one GPMG, one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and 34 motorcycles, from the decimated criminals.
Maj. Gen. Enenche, further said: “Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity, on 13 July 2020, responded to a distress call on an attempt by armed bandits to rustle cows at Kasele village in Batsari LGA of Katsina State.”
After troops were swiftly mobilized to the scene, the DMO Coordinator, said the bandits fled in disarray, thereby abandoning the animals.
“Afterwards, the gallant troops have maintained presence in the village and normalcy restored,” he added.
The Military High Command has already congratulated the ‘gallant’ troops for their dexterity.
The troops were encouraged to remain resolute and sustain the offensive in the North West.
