Man allegedly defiles 3-year-old girl in Ogun
The police in Ogun State have arrested a 23-year-old man, Badmus Quadri, for defiling a three-year-old girl (name withheld).
The suspect reportedly had carnal knowledge of the girl on Thursday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Quadri was arrested following a complaint by victim’s mother.
Oyeyemi said the mother of the victim reported the matter at Owode-Egbado Police Station that she noticed blood in the private part of her daughter upon returning from market.
The PPRO added that the mother said she detected it when she interrogated her daughter.

He said the victim told her mother that it was Quadri who took her into his room and had carnal knowledge of her.
According to Oyeyemi , upon the report, the DPO Owode-Egbado Division, SP Olabisi Elebute, led detectives to the area where the suspect, who is a neighbour to the victim’s parents, was promptly arrested after the victim identified him.
He stated, “The victim was quickly taken to the General Hospital, Idi-Iroko, where it was confirmed that she was defiled.’’
The PPRO further said that the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, had ordered the transfer of the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
