Seven die of COVID-19 in Lagos, Kano, Katsina
No fewer than seven patients have died coronavirus related complications in Nigeria in the past 24 hours.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known in its COVID-19 Situation Report for June 8 published on Tuesday.
Of the seven COVID-19 fatalities, five were recorded in Lagos State while one death each was reported in Kano and Katsina states.

Part of the report read, “315 confirmed cases were reported in the last 24 hours in 14 states – Lagos (128), FCT (34), Rivers (32), Edo (28), Oyo (22), Kaduna (20), Gombe (13), Ogun (8), Delta (7), Kwara (7), Kano (5), Plateau (5), Bauchi (4) and Katsina (2).
“No new state recorded a confirmed COVID-19 case in the last 24 hours.
“The total number of states including FCT that have reported at least one confirmed case in Nigeria is still 36 (35 states + FCT).
“Eighty-one cases were discharged in the last 24 hours in nine states – Kano (27), Rivers (16), Katsina (10), Bayelsa (9), Edo (5), FCT (5), Kaduna (4), Plateau (4) and Osun (1).
“Seven deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours in three states – Lagos (five), Kano (one), and Katsina (one).”
