Police mobilise local hunters to rescue abducted Nasarawa CAN chairman

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapped of Bishop Joseph Masin, State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in his residence at Lafia, the state capital.

The state Police Commissioner, Bola Longe, who confirmed the incidence to newsmen on Thursday,said the command had mobiled hunters, Operation Nasarawa, SARS and other security agencies to ensure that the CAN chairman is rescued.

According to Mr Lange, the bishop was abducted by gunmen who stormed his residence in Bukan-sidi, Lafia metropolis around 12.30 Thursday morning.

However, family sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that the Bishop was abducted at about 12 midnight by gunmen who came in on motorcycle.

The source said although nobody was hurt during the incident, the family was traumatized.
