15 fresh COVID-19 cases uncovered in Oyo firm
The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force disclosed on Thursday that 15 of the 19 new confirmed cases in the state were staff members of iSON Xperiences in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Seyi Makinde, who doubles as the chairman of the state task force, made the disclosure via his verified Twitter handle.
He also said samples of two COVID-19 cases in the state came back negative after two confirmatory tests, bringing the total number of discharged cases in the state to 48.

He wrote, “Two confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second negative test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 48.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for 19 suspected cases came back positive. Fifteen are from iSON Xperiences in Ibadan South West Local Government Area; two are from Ido Local Government Council Area and one is from Ibadan South East Local Government Council Area. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 162.”
The governor urged members of the public to present those that manifested related symptoms such as cold, high temperature or fever and dry cough, for testing.
“Please call the Emergency Operations Centre if you find travellers from other states arriving in your community,” he said.
