Missing ‘Anambra seven’ youths arraigned
Eight missing youths in Okuzu, Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State have been found, arraigned in court and remanded, it was gathered.
They were arraigned at the Otuocha Chief Magistrate Court, in Anambra East Council Area on Tuesday
The eight youth leaders had not been seen since April 11, 2020 when security operatives stormed the community.
They were arraigned by the police prosecutor, C C Ugwu.
The prosecutor informed the court that there was security threat in Oba, the reason, he said the defendants were brought to Otuocha, outside their jurisdiction
Some of the charges against the youths were that they wanted to kill one Denis Ejoifor with dangerous weapons like machete and daggers.

They were also alleged to be members of a secret cult known as Supreme Vikings fraternity SVC among others. The Magistrate remanded them iat Enugwu Ukwu police anti-cult station.
One of the counsels to the defendants, Ugorji Nnazimuzo, raised the alarm, saying what happened at Otuocha was the height of injustice to the youths.
He said they were already putting up a petition to the National Judicial Council (NJC) against the presiding Magistrate against what he described as an aberration
Nnazimuzo, said the prosecutor tricked them that they were arraigning them at Oba and quickly ran to Otuocha without informing them and before they could get to the venue, the deed had been done
He said, “There was no fair hearing in the matter. The Magistrate got it wrong knowing the sensitive nature of the case and we are going to petition NJC on this issue.“
