If Buratai, Munguno, Kyari were not from Borno

Assuming Buhari didn’t win election, only God knows how we would have been lectured on how easy it would have been for a General who was taught in Aldershot and Borden and his battle experiences. How the General would have used his War College knowledge to deal with terrorists more than any civilian president.

Imagine if Buratai is not from Biu. People would have been here telling us how important it is having a son of the soil who has knowledge of the region and how easily he would have crushed the devastators since he wouldn’t succumb to any treachery to destroy his land. Now you have Buratai. People never had it this bad until his time.

Assuming Babagana Monguno is not the National Security Adviser. Only God knows the prose one would have read on the imperativeness of having a security adviser from the troubled region who knows much about intelligence and security policy issues. When was the last time Monguno gave a single befitting tip to the President on National Security?

Abba Kyari is the Chief of Staff to the President and he’s also from Borno. This is a person who is the most closest to the President after the person he shares bed with. He can whisper whatever to the President but doesn’t tell him the suffering of the people of N. E. If this position is occupied by someone from other states of the federation, you would have been hearing musings that that person doesn’t have Borno at heart and wouldn’t tell the President what he ought to hear and hence the reason Borno is on the verge of collapse.

The state is a mechanism by which people seek to achieve adequate levels of security against societal threats. Should this be amiss, don’t be jittery in saying you are in a failed state even if someone will say you shouldn’t talk because someone has given political appointments to people from your region. How much more of serious governments talk more of one that doesn’t have a clearly articulated strategy to end a decade old insurgency.
