Police arraign 11 Fulani, community leaders over Plateau killings

The 11 people arrested by the police over the attacks in Bokkos and Mangu council areas of Plateau State have been arraigned before the Chief Magistrates Court, Kasuwan Nama, Jos.

No fewer than 20 people were killed in the attacks.

The accused, who included Fulani Ardos and community leaders were initially taken to Abuja by the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Team but were returned to Plateau State on Thursday for prosecution.

The police accused them of conspiring to launch an attack on Kwatas and Kulben-Kombun villages in Bokkos, which led to the death of 14 persons, among other charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Tongret Kparbong, granted the accused bail and adjourned the case indefinitely, adding that the lawyers would be contacted as appropriate.
