Kano Police rescue 11th Kidnap Victim
The Kano State Police Command’s anti-kidnapping team of Operation Puff Adder has rescued another kidnap victim, in a fresh operation it carried out yesterday, bringing the number of rescued children to 11.
In a press statement, made available to newsmen, by the Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the command said that the anti-kidnapping team of Operation Adder carried out the rescue operation, during which, one Muhammed Ya’u, 11, who was kidnapped in 2014 at PRP Quarters, Kano was rescued.

Haruna said the operation was successfully carried out at Onitsha, Anambra State by the team.
According to him, the victim was kidnapped by one Paul Onwe and Mercy Paul and sold to one, Ebere Ogbodo at the sum of N200,000 and renamed Chinedu Ogbodo. Haruna said that all suspects are currently under investigation.
Also, he said efforts are in progress to rescue more kidnapped children.
It should be recalled that last week, the outgoing Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, told journalists that one Salisu, a minor, was also rescued by the police from kidnappers’ den.
