Imo Judge’s Kidnap: NBA shuns courts

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Owerri branch, has embarked on the boycott of courts in Imo State in protest against the kidnap of Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme of the Court of Appeal, Benin City Division.

Justice Iheme was reportedly kidnapped and her police orderly shot dead by armed men along Agbo road in Benin City, Edo State, on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

In a statement signed by the chairman, Damian Anosike, and secretary, Justin Osuebi, in Owerri yesterday, the association described the incident as unacceptable, regrettable, condemnable and barbaric.

According to the lawyers, the boycott will last for three days within which the police and other security agencies are expected to recover the victim and arrest the culprits.
