Female Soldiers conduct free medical services in Kano
The Nigerian Army Women’s Corps, under the 3 Brigade Kano on Monday conducted a free medical outreach at Dan-Dalama community in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the state.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the women soldiers also conducted early morning sanitation at Gwammaja, in Dala local government Area, show of force patrol and also later joined the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) to control traffic in the city.
Speaking at the venue of the medical outreach, the Commander in charge of the women’s corps at the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Brig.-Gen. Preye Fakrogha, said the exercise was part of their social responsibilities to the public.
According to him, the exercise which was an instruction of the Chief of Army Staff, Maj.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, to assist the public, especially those in the rural areas.

He added that the exercise, “which was also part of their military Civil relationship and social corporate responsibilities will also encourage the public, especially the women to have interest in the army.
”It will also tell the public that the military work is not only for the men, but the women are also engaged and they are doing very well through discharging their duties towards the development of the country.”
Alhaji Ado Tambari, the Chairman Dawakin Tofa local government Area, who was represented by the Council’s leader, Alhaji Garba Mudi, commended the Nigerian Army for the gesture.
He explained that the exercise was carried out at a time the people of the community were in need of such, adding that the council would give it maximum support for a successful outing.
The Chairman further said that, “this medical outreach will go a long way in making great impact on the lives of our people, because the area is having a lot of health issues”.
