After 76 days in captivity, Siasia’s mother regains freedom
Emergency Digest – The Bayelsa State Police Command on Sunday has confirmed the release former Super Eagles coach and player, Samson Siasia’s mother Mrs Beauty Ogere Siasia.
A member of Mr Siasia’s family, Eworikumo Siasia, also confirmed that the 80-year-old Madam Siasia had been freed and is at home with family members at their Odoni country home in Sagbama Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Asinim Butswat, said the police command would issue an official statement later on Sunday.
Siasia’s mother was kidnapped by unidentified armed men on July 15, alongside 65-year-old Florence Donana and her 17-year-old granddaughter from her home in Odoni, Sagbama Local Government of Bayelsa State.
The kidnappers earlier demanded N50 million ransom before her release.
It’s not known however, whether the family have paid the said amount before she regains her freedom.
