Insecurity: Army, Police to tackle Bandits in South-West

The Nigeria Army says it will collaborate with the police to end insecurity in the South-West region of the country.

General Officer Commanding, 2 Division of the Nigeria Army, Ibadan, Oyo State, Major Gen. Anthony Bamidele Omozoje, disclosed this on Thursday to journalists.

Omozoje, who visited Akure, Ondo State, for the inauguration of some projects at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Barracks, said the military have deployed men to provide security at flash points in the South-West.

He said they will work closely with other sister security agencies to end the issue of insecurity in the region.

He said, “The 2 Division in Ibadan covers six states in the South-West including Edo State and we are already here to provide security.

“We are conducting various operations across this region. Whatever the police is doing, we’re complementing their efforts because in internal security, the police takes the lead.”
