Police flags-off Operation Puff Adder in Yobe

The Nigeria Police Force Yobe State Command said its personnel have been repositioned to meet up the rising cases of insecurity in the state after successful electioneering processes.

This was disclosed by the Police Commissioner, Sumounu Abdulmaliki, while flagging-off operation Puff Adder in Damaturu on Friday.

He said the same operation was launched by the acting Inspector General of Police, some weeks ago and directed all state commands to replicate it.

“Today we are witnessing the flagging-off of operation Puff Adder to combat armed robbery, kidnapping and abduction, banditry, among others, apart from the insurgency that the military is taking the lead.

“We will work together with our sister security agencies to make sure our state and national borders are protected,” he said.

Abdulmaliki noted with concern the elements of kidnapping and abduction in some parts of the state and called on the stakeholders to always give police the necessary cooperation to make the state safe for all.

The flagging-off of the operation was witnessed by the representatives of Army, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, State Security Services, Federal Road Safety Corps, among others.
