Kano State Fire Service, on Monday, said it saved 116 lives and goods worth N365 million from 107 fire incidents in the state in January.
The Public Relations Officer of the organisation, Saidu Mohammed, made this disclosure to newsmen in Kano.
Mr Mohammed, however, said that 11 lives were lost.

He said that property valued N92 million were also destroyed during the period while the service received 70 rescue calls and 28 false alarms from residents.
Mr Mohammed identified the use of inferior electrical materials, use of boiling rings, accidents, as well as poor handling of electrical appliances and cooking gas, as major causes of fire disasters.
He, therefore, advised the public to be careful and stop storing petroleum products in their homes in order to avert fire outbreak.
