Kaduna State Govt donates N2m to Nigerian legionnaires
Kaduna State Government on Tuesday announced a donation of N2 million to members of the Nigerian Legion in the state, to support those in distress among them.
The state Deputy Governor, Bala Bantex, announced the donation in Kaduna at the launch of 2019 Emblem to mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
Bantex who represented Gov. Nasiru El-Rufa’i, noted that the condition of some of the legionnaires require the support of all in view of their sacrifices to the nation.

He therefore urged all those who made pledges at the launch to redeem their promises to the brave soldiers who dedicated their lives to the service of the country.
“There are many soldiers who are not dead but have been crippled, blinded or disabled from past wars or during the insurgency fights.
“These group of soldiers require the money to sustain a better life”.
On his part, the state Chairman, Nigerian Legion, John Tabat, explained that funds realised from the event would be used to support widows, orphans and disabled members.
“The funds will also be used to empower women with skills that will support their orphans”, the chairman added.
Tabat disclosed that other events earmarked to commemorate the fallen heroes include prayers in Mosques and Churches, and the laying of wreath on Jan. 15.
