NEMA to distribute 3,774 food baskets to IDPs in January
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said on Monday that
3,774 food basket relief materials would be distributed to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in 12 communities in Yobe in January.
Hajiya Fatima Kasim, the Deputy Director, Special Duties at NEMA, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abari YBC, Damaturu local Government Area.
Kasim said that the relief materials were donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre of Saudi Arabia and that the agency was representing the centre in the distribution of the materials.

NAN recalls that NEMA Director-General Mustapha Maihaja, had on Dec. 7, 2018, launched the distribution of relief materials at Kukareta village, Damaturu.
“Today, we are distributing a total of 355 food baskets in two communities — 184 in Kasaisa and 171 in Abari YBC community.
“Other communities to receive the donation this month include Kukareta, Ngabrawa, Muhd G.Farm, Furi, Funai, Usmanti, Katarko, Pompo, Gujba and Nguru.”
Kasim added that the distribution of the materials would continue until March 2019.
Zainab Abdullahi, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude and described the gesture as highly commendable.
