Isa Gusau Remains Spokesperson to Governor Shettima
The Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy and spokesman to Governor Kashim Shettima, Mallam Isa Gusau has withdrawn a resignation letter he tendered early in the week over a political misunderstanding in the state.
Isa Gusau’s resignation was prompted by disagreements with the Borno State chairman of APC and a former commissioner in the state over political communication strategies.
A source close to the Governor told PRNigeria that the withdrawal of the letter was following the interventions by Governor Shettima and other dignitaries within and outside the state.
The source said: “Gusau has fully resumed his duties at Government House after the interventions as the Governor directed him to draft some of his speeches for forth-coming events and other media engagements in and outside the state.
You know he plays central roles on publicity of APC not only in the state where the governor is a political leader but also as a member of the national media strategy team of APC, an extension of the media section of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign organization which membership include Festus Keyamo, SAN and presidential spokespersons, Mr. Femi Adesina and Mallam Garba Shehu.
“He is widely respected as spokesperson who not only provides professional advice but implement political communication strategies to reposition the party against the antics of opposition elements.
“In fact, in the last five years, Gusau has not only promoted government programmes, he is also a brain behind positive publicity of the ruling party through the activities of the state chairman and the APC publicity machinery against the formidable publicity stunts by the opposition party, especially, the PDP in Borno State.
“Gusau has promised to continue to promote and protect the governor, his programmes and political activities of the ruling party in the state towards successes in 2019 general election.”
